Seafood Cookoff

Join the Warwick Area Career and Technical Center (WACTC) on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, from 3-5:30 PM at Tides Cafe (located at 575 Centerville Road, Warwick) for all things seafood!

Students from five (5) career and technical high schools will be competing to see who has the best preparation for locally sourced calamari - and you are invited to try them all!

Each school will provide guests with a taste of their preparation and guests will rate the dishes on characteristics like flavor and creativity. The winning team will have their dish featured at a Newport Restaurant Group restaurant as a special following the competition.

Reservations are required and space is limited. Those interested in attending can RSVP for free here.

Participating schools include: CHARIHOtech, Davies Career & Technical High School, East Providence High School Career & Technical Center, the Warwick Area Career & Technical Center, and the Westerly High School Career & Technology Pathways Program.

Sponsors include: Warwick Area Career & Technical Center, Rhode Island Sea Grant, Newport Restaurant Group, URI College of the Environment and Life Sciences, RI Department of Environmental Management/Seafood RI, RI Hospitality Association, URI Coastal Institute, Roch's Fresh Foods, Eating with the Ecosystem, Eat Drink RI, and Wild Atlantic Seafood.
