safety update

Mr. Galligan, Director of the Warwick Area Career and Technical Center, shares the following statement from Superintendent McCaffrey issued at 9:50 PM on Sat., Dec. 13, 2025 as it relates to our students from Toll Gate HS, and subsequently, the WACTC regarding the senseless tragedy at Brown University:

Dear Warwick Warwick Public School families and staff,

Tonight's senseless and tragic event at Brown University was wide reaching, and involved members of our Warwick Public School's community.

The Toll Gate High School robotics team was in a nearby area competing during the active shooter situation. I am relieved to report that our students after being on lockdown for several hours, are all accounted for and home safe.

I want to thank the coach of the robotics team, Adam Ricci, and the team mentor, Ricky Saquic, for keeping our students safe and maintaining open lines of communication during a horrific situation.

There will be support staff at Toll Gate on Monday if needed. As a district and community, we wish to express our heartfelt condolences to all of those impacted by today's tragic events.

Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Superintendent William McCaffrey
